Description
Introduction

Incoloy 825 Fastener is a high-performance corrosion-resistant alloy fastener, mainly composed of nickel (38-46%), iron, chromium (20-22.5%), and added elements molybdenum (2.5-3.5%), copper (1.5- 3%) and titanium (0.6-1.2%). Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, and good mechanical properties, this alloy fastener is widely used in many high-corrosion and high-temperature environment fields such as the chemical industry, oil and gas, marine engineering, environmentally friendly energy, and food processing.

Performance characteristics

Excellent corrosion resistance

The high nickel content and appropriate amount of molybdenum in Incoloy 825 Fastener form a stable passivation film that effectively resists the erosion of various corrosive media such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and chloride. The critical pitting temperature (CPT) of Incoloy 825 Fastener in chloride-containing solutions is as high as 60°C, much higher than ordinary stainless steel.

Excellent high-temperature strength

The nickel and chromium in Incoloy 825 Fastener alloy significantly improve the matrix strength of the product through solid solution strengthening. The tensile strength of Incoloy 825 at 650°C is still not less than 550 MPa, and the yield strength is not less than 275 MPa, much higher than ordinary stainless steel. At the same time, elements such as titanium and aluminum in Incoloy 825 will form precipitated phases such as Ni3 (Ti, Al) to play a pinning role at the grain boundaries, effectively hindering the slip and creep of the grain boundaries, further improving the performance of Incoloy 825 Fastener high-temperature strength.

High toughness

The high toughness of the Incoloy 825 Fastener is attributed to its optimized alloy element ratio, uniform microstructure, and excellent processability and weldability. The elongation rate of the Incoloy 825 Fastener is ≥30%, allowing it to absorb a significant amount of energy when subjected to external forces, making it resistant to breaking.

Application

1. Chemical Industry: Incoloy 825 fasteners manufacture corrosion-resistant chemical equipment such as reactors, evaporators, and heat exchangers.
2. Oil and Gas Industry: Incoloy 825 fasteners manufacture key components such as corrosion-resistant pipes, valves, pumps, and oil well equipment.
3. Pulp and Paper Industry: Incoloy 825 fasteners are used for heat transfer elements such as steam heaters and baths.
4. Food Processing Industry: Incoloy 825 fasteners are used in food production equipment such as autoclaves and storage tanks.

Q: Why choose an embossed Incoloy 825 fastener over other materials for my project?

A: They are preferred for their exceptional corrosion resistance, especially in oxidative and reductive environments. This makes them ideal for use in harsh chemical settings, oil and gas industries, and marine applications. Their embossed design also adds a layer of mechanical strength and helps manage stresses more efficiently, making them a robust choice for challenging conditions.

Q: Can embossed Incoloy 825 fasteners be used in high-temperature applications?

A: Yes, they are suitable for high-temperature applications. They maintain their mechanical strength and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures, making them perfect for industries like power generation and chemical processing where exposure to high temperatures is common.

Q: How do I ensure the longevity of  Incoloy 825 fasteners in my projects?

A: To ensure its longevity, it is important to follow proper installation and maintenance practices. Regular inspections for signs of wear or corrosion can help identify potential issues early. Additionally, cleaning the fasteners properly, avoiding the use of incompatible materials, and ensuring that the environment is suitable for their use will also contribute to their longevity. Correct handling and maintenance, paired with the fastener's inherent resistance to challenging conditions, will significantly extend their service life.
